The most popular story ever published by HV1 was our coverage of the Dr. Gilberto Nunez murder trial. To this day, thousands of visitors still read the article each month, finding it at the top of Google search results while looking for local reporting on the bizarre and dramatic Nunez saga.
To privy locals, it came as no surprise in 2022 that the story would be optioned for a TV series, and big names were attached: HBO was to develop, Pedro Pascal to star and executive produce. Its title? My Dentist’s Murder Trial.
Alas, Pascal has since left the project (perhaps due to becoming a superstar in the interim), and it’s been reported that the concept for the series has evolved beyond its true-crimes-of-Kingston roots. The Nunez angle has reportedly been dropped in favor of an entirely original idea with only a vague inspiration from the Kingston murder trial. DTF St. Louis, the new concept, has been described as “a darkly comedic limited series about a love triangle between three adults experiencing middle-age malaise, that leads to one of them ending up dead.”
HV1 is still open to any film producers who want to option our most popular article.
