The City of Kingston has been awarded $100,000 from Empire State Development for a citywide parking study to evaluate existing conditions and identify areas where capacity can be better utilized, and new parking can be created.
“Parking has long been an issue in Kingston,” said mayor Steve Noble, “and we need to right-size our parking offerings.”
The city recently expanded its parking enforcement efforts to include Saturdays and expanded weekday-afternoon times .
In August 2023, Noble and common council president Andrea Shaut formed a task force, to gather community input regarding parking issues and create a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the study.
