An violent altercation involving a 2×4-wielding Ellenville man led to his victim being airlifted to the hospital, according to New York State Police.
On the afternoon of Jan. 8, State Police from Ellenville apprehended a 31-year-old Ellenville resident, Eudomar Demacedo, following a severe beating that left a 34-year-old man with serious injuries. Demacedo faces multiple charges, including second-degree assault, a Class D felony, as well as second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both misdemeanors.
The incident took place earlier that day at the victim’s home on Route 209 in Wawarsing. During the altercation, Demacedo allegedly used a wooden 2×4 to repeatedly strike the victim. The injured man was initially treated at Ellenville Hospital before being airlifted to Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown for further care.
Following an investigation conducted by the State Police’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Ellenville, Demacedo was taken into custody. He was arraigned at the Ulster County Central Arraignment Part and is currently being held at Ulster County Jail, awaiting further legal proceedings. Authorities have indicated that the investigation is still ongoing.
