At 7:35 on the morning of November 23, Belleayre’s fourth day open this year, the ski center on the northwest corner of Ulster County was experiencing excellent conditions, The temperature at the base was at the freezing point and it was four degrees lower at the summit, A seasonably cold day in the mid-forties was expected.
“The last of a few flurries came through last night, capping off what has been quite the interesting week,” said the website of the state-operated ski center. “But the end of it is here, and pristine conditions await!”
Total snowfall during “the interesting week,” topped off with three inches in the past 24 hours, was 18 inches.
