In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Family of Woodstock will screen the short film Women Helping Women on October 29, shedding light on the organization’s groundbreaking work in supporting domestic violence survivors. Created by former board member Ken McCarthy, the film highlights the pioneering efforts of the women who established the Washbourne House, the first domestic violence shelter between New York City and Albany, in 1980. The event, held at Kingston’s Restorative Justice Center, will include a post-screening panel featuring women from the film and current Family of Woodstock staff. RSVP is required.
