Uncover a hidden chapter of the Hudson Valley’s past at an author event and book signing for A Hudson Valley Reckoning: Discovering the Forgotten History of Slaveholding in My Dutch American Family. Debra Bruno’s new book is a powerful blend of memoir and historical exploration. After discovering her ancestors’ deep ties to slavery, Bruno embarked on a journey to confront this difficult legacy. Join her for an eye-opening presentation, followed by a book signing and refreshments. Historian Myra Young Armstead calls it a “cannon blast” for those unaware of this region’s complex history. Reservations are required.
