Saugerties student medals at national SkillsUSA competition
Cosmo McIntosh, a recent graduate of the Saugerties Central School District who completed the Ulster BOCES small engine mechanics repair program, earned third place in the motorcycle technician category at the SkillsUSA national competition, which was held from June 24-28 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
This achievement follows McIntosh’s first-place win at the New York State SkillsUSA competition at the Syracuse Fairgrounds this spring, where the young professional competed against thousands of students from more than 60 high schools throughout the State. At the national level, McIntosh surpassed numerous state champions from across the United States.
Ulster BOCES Career & Technical Center principal Joseph Salamone expressed his congratulations by saying, “This is a fantastic achievement, showcasing Cosmo’s dedication, hard work and expertise in the field. We know this is just the beginning of many more successes to come.”
