James Pogo Lo Rubbio is an upstate artist fueled by an insatiable lust for culture, a dark sense of humor and an overworked record player. His work is a reflection of his observations, brought to life with a unique blend of humor and insight. Using bristol, ink and the occasional bold splash of color, his aesthetic is attention-grabbing to say the least. The artist is a SUNY New Paltz alum with a BA in art history. He brings his thought-provoking work to the gallery at the Le Shag salon, which will host an opening reception this Saturday featuring a live performance and refreshments.
