New York City is not that far away. Lately it feels as if we’re practically living in the sixth borough. Clearly, the Big Apple’s best exports to our area aren’t housing shortages, exorbitant price increases or poor driving skills. The city has always been a font of musical innovation, and Kim Gordon is one of its most iconic musicians. First co-founding Sonic Youth and later blazing sonic trails with Body/Head, Glitterburst and her own solo work, Gordon has not slowed in her pursuit of artful sound.
