This Friday and Saturday, Historic Huguenot Street will celebrate 400 years of Dutch settlement in the Hudson Valley with a special living history event. This immersive experience will feature Lenape Delaware, Black, and European demonstrators showcasing their craftsmanship and culture. Enjoy demonstrations of wood working, hearth cooking, tailoring, wampum making, and a bustling marketplace with items for sale such as camp gear, clothing, and wooden bowls. Lenape Delaware community members will offer insights into their ancestors’ lives through activities like bow shooting, flintknapping, and hide tanning.
