If you’ve been wanting to experience the benefits of cold plunging, you’re in luck: Rewind Kingston’s annual cold plunge in the Hudson River returns to Kingston Point Beach this weekend to raise awareness and support for mental health in the local community in memory and spirit of their daughter Cassidy Flood. This will be the third annual “Go All In for Mental Health”.
Cold water immersion is a natural method of therapy that can help with anxiety and depression, and even a regular form of exercise for some people. Participants do not have to go in the water to join: there are many people who prefer to stay warm and support from the beach. All donations will support United We Om, a local non-profit providing micro-grants to compassion-creators, do-gooders and change-makers who are offering services selflessly to others. If you can’t make the plunge, Rewind Kingston encourages you to do a random act of kindness in Cassidy’s honor or pay it forward as she loved to do.
The event is free and all are welcome.
