Luck is in the air as Kingston gears up for its annual Shamrock Run and St. Patrick’s Parade on March 10. The day begins with the cannon-blast start of the 36th annual Shamrock Run, a 2.1-mile Irish-themed run/walk hosted by the Irish Cultural Center of the Hudson Valley. Participants will journey from Academy Green to the Rondout Waterfront, embracing the Emerald Isle spirit. The St. Patrick’s Parade, organized by the Ancient Order of Hibernians, promises a spectacle of Irish-themed floats and lively bands, marching from Kingston Plaza and winding through the city streets to also end at the Rondout Waterfront. Don’t miss the post-race party at the Rondout Neighborhood Center, featuring a chance to win a $1,000 gift card for a trip to Ireland.
