The Old Dutch Church of Kingston welcomed people to two immersive holiday experiences on Tuesday, December 19. Presented for the first time, in Pipe Dreams, a 40-minute program of organ music by John Baratta and live visuals by B.A. Miale, beautiful colorful festive projections were shown on the walls and ceiling of the sanctuary. The combination of the melodious sounds with the visuals was extraordinarily delightful and meditative at the same time.
Following Pipe Dreams was the 74th reenactment of the Living Nativity. In all other years it was held in the churchyard, but this year it took place in the sanctuary. Thanks to Edie’s Fairy Tale Theater, there were costumes for the multitudes of angels, both small and adult, shepherds, and wise men, with the audience enjoying the story and the singing.
