News & notes (6/16/21)

The Bearsville Theater now offers a jazz brunch Sunday concerts series.

Bearsville Theater, 291 Tinker Street: Proof of vaccination is required for entry. Those who are not vaccinated or cannot provide proof will be required to take a rapid COVID test on site and be charged $15, which is the cost of the nurse to administer the test. Masks must be worn at all times when inside the theater and not eating or drinking.

Those unwilling or unable to comply will be issued a refund if the ticket holder contacts the theater up to 2 hours before the event.

Colony Woodstock, 22 Rock City Road: Proof of vaccination is required for all indoor events and masks are required at all times when not eating or drinking. This does not apply to the beer garden, where there are currently no restrictions.

Levon Helm Studios, 160 Plochmann Lane: Proof of vaccination is required for all attendees, artists, staff and crew. Negative test results will not be accepted. Masks must be worn at all times when inside the studio or store.

Pearl Moon, 52 Mill Hill Road: Masks are required indoors regardless of vaccination.

Station Bar & Curio, 101 Tinker Street: This establishment reopened August 22 after voluntary closure on August 13 when a staff member tested positive for COVID-19. All staffers are fully vaccinated. Masks are required when indoors. For those uncomfortable being indoors, a large porch and outdoor area offers fresh air and frequent live music.

Woodstock Playhouse, 103 Mill Hill Road: Masking and vaccination policies depend on the event producer.

For The THE BAND Band’s 50th anniversary of Stage Fright on August 27 and 28, proof of vaccination is required and masks are optional.

Nick Henderson

Nick Henderson was raised in Woodstock starting at the age of three and attended Onteora schools, then SUNY New Paltz after spending a year at SUNY Potsdam under the misguided belief he would become a music teacher. He became the news director at college radio station WFNP, where he caught the journalism bug and the rest is history. He spent four years as City Hall reporter for Foster’s Daily Democrat in Dover, NH, then moved back to Woodstock in 2003 and worked on the Daily Freeman copy desk until 2013. He has covered Woodstock for Ulster Publishing since early 2014.
