The spring sports season got underway in New Paltz last week when the boys’ golf team dispatched Mid-Hudson Athletic League opponent F.D.R. 169-172. The battle, the first for the Huguenots in nearly two years after the 2020 season was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, was fought at Dinsmore Golf Course in Staatsburg on Thursday, April 22.
Oliver Watson led New Paltz with a 6-over-par 40, with Stephen Carr (41) Loyal Goodermote (42) and John Goodermote (46) factoring into the win. F.D.R.’s Ike Rothman shared medal honors with Watson in a losing effort.
The Huguenots returned home on Monday, April 26 to host Marlboro at the New Paltz Golf Course (too late for this edition of Hudson Valley One).
