Bids sought for roof replacements at Saugerties wastewater plants

New Paltz village planning board chair questions elected leaders, resigns from post

The Saugerties Town Board voted at its April 7 meeting to seek bids for the replacement of the roofs at the Malden and Glasco sewer plants, based on recommendations by engineers Brinnier and Larios. The roofs are part of the original construction of the plants in the late 1980s, supervisor Fred Costello said. The town has recently upgraded both facilities through New York Rising grants, and when the town completes the roofs, it will have “checked a lot of the boxes to make sure that the infrastructure is current and well maintained into the near future,” Costello said. “We hope these bids come in at a place we can afford to do it, and this will be the last of the infrastructure improvements that we put into both the Malden and the Glasco facilities. Recently they both went through an upgrade and some of the lights that hadn’t worked in a long time are now shining brightly.”
