The Woodstock Town Board revisited the shelved Comeau office renovation project and floated the idea of increasing the Rock City Road parking fee to $10 at its January 10 business meeting.
A $2 million project designed by Walker Architecture involved an addition to the offices at 45 Comeau Drive and renovation of the supervisor’s cottage, bringing all public-facing services to the first floor. The redesigned floor plan would allow for more workspace and storage on the second floor and include lunch and break spaces and a new HVAC system.
The project was put on hold because of the economic uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, but supervisor Bill McKenna thinks it’s time to revisit the project once the economy picks up again.
“It’s been a year. Let’s be solid on what we’re presenting,” councilman Richard Heppner said.
Councilwoman Laura Ricci said the project was paused at the point where Walker Architecture was going to show updated models of the project to the public.
