At its annual organizational meeting, the Woodstock Town Board made appointments to boards and commissions and set rules for conducting of business for the year.
Reappointed to the Environmental Commission were Nicholas Foad, David Gross, Arlene Weissman and Erin Moran with terms through December 31, 2022. Alex Bolotow was appointed chair.
Gordon Wemp was reappointed chair of the Zoning Board of Appeals through 2025 and Joseph Belluck as ZBA member through 2022.
Reappointed to the Planning Board were James Conrad through 2027 and Peter Cross as chair for 2021.
Commission for Civic Design: David Ekroth and Geoff Hardin through 2023.
Comeau Stewardship Advisory Committee: Patricia Jackson, Marilyn St. John and Jim Hanson through 2022;
Ethics Board: Neil Ratner through 2022.
Human Rights Commission: Bonnie Wagner, Gayle Two Eagles, Georgia Cohen and Stephanie Kaplan through 2022. Anula Courtis was reappointed chair;
Town Historian: Richard Heppner;
Deputy Highway Superintendent: Scott Bonesteel, Heather Eighmey.
Highway Department Shop Supervisor: Ralph Van Kleeck.
Deputy Town Clerk: Lynn Sehwerert, Michelle Sehwerert.
HIPAA Officer: Pamela Boyle.
Emergency Disaster Relief Coordinator: Fire Chief Kevin Peters.
Town Attorney: Rod Futerfas at a rate of $165 per hour.
Special counsel to the Planning Board: John Lyons at $150 per hour.
Planning advisor: Matthew Rudikoff at $165 per hour
Ulster County Climate Smart Communities liaison, supervisor’s technology adviser: Ken Panza
The town has again contracted with Family of Woodstock to provide social services at $4000 per year, Meals on Wheels for meal delivery to shut-ins at $2500 per year, and the American Legion Post 1026 for coordinating Memorial Day services at $2000 per year.
Supervisor Bill McKenna appointed the following liaison positions:
Councilman Lorin Rose: Woodstock Land Conservancy, Woodstock public access television station, and Woodstock Fire Department;
Councilman Reggie Earls: Comeau Stewardship Advisory Committee, Senior Recreation Committee, Woodstock Farmers’ Market and Chamber of Commerce;
Councilwoman Laura Ricci: Woodstock Public Library, Woodstock Environmental Commission, Tree Committee, Complete Streets Committee and Zoning Revision Committee;
Councilman Richard Heppner: Alf Evers Volunteer of the Year award committee, Housing Committee, Commission for Civic Design and Cemetery Committee.
The town board voted to move Public Be Heard to the end of regular meetings. Up to five members of the public may speak for two minutes each. Supervisor McKenna said moving feedback to the end of meetings will allow more dialogue since the business has been handled. Heppner noted people’s comments may already have been addressed by actions during the meeting.
