Some personnel changes are in store for the Town of Gardiner’s boards and commissions. At the Town Board’s October 6 workshop meeting, two appointments were unanimously approved: Parks and Recreation Committee member Ilka Casey will begin a new seven-year term. And Vicki Morgan Erenzo will take the place of Liz Glover Wilson, whose term is expiring, on the town’s Board of Ethics.
According to town supervisor Marybeth Majestic, Glover Wilson is “so busy that we didn’t hear from her” when asked whether she wanted to continue for another five-year term. So Majestic nominated Morgan Erenzo, who expressed interest in serving after having taken part in the ad hoc committee that drafted Gardiner’s updated ethics law in 2018. Councilwoman Laura Walls praised Morgan Erenzo’s contribution to that process, noting, “She asked simple, basic questions that caused us to stop and evaluate” the language proposed for the law.
Noting that Planning Board/Zoning Board of Appeals clerk Mariela Roman is leaving that post, Majestic told the Town Board that Planning Board chair Paul Colucci had recommended retaining Glenn Gidaly, project manager at the engineering firm Barton & Loguidice, DPC, as an independent contractor to replace Roman. A decision was postponed until the regular Town Board meeting on October 13. Gidaly is the husband of Councilwoman Walls, who will recuse herself from the vote.
