In a sure sign that spring has indeed sprung, the Wiltwyck Golf Club opened for play on Friday, April 13.
The club, which had faced the possibility of closure last year before a sale to a new group of investors, will also be open to the public for the first time this season. A special rate of $40 with cart for 18 holes is available to the public throughout the month of April, though club owners still say being a member is the best way to experience the club. Member benefits include access to preferred tee times, guest discounts, pro shop discounts, access to the pool and tennis courts, and additional amenities.
Later this month, club officials say, the new Capital Tavern, a joint venture between famed chef Kenny Callaghan and local restaurateur David Amato, will open. The restaurant will serve lunch and dinner and offer full bar service, which will feature local beers, wines and distilled spirits.
