Last season the New Paltz boys tennis team finished at 14-0 and were MHAL champions; this season looks to be more of the same, as the Huguenots upped their dual-meet record to 7-0 this season with wins over Saugerties 5-0, previously undefeated Onteora 4-1 and Red Hook 4-1.
Against Saugerties, it was Noah Kalus over Josh McCormick 6-0, 2-6, 7-6; Isaac Cheruiyot over Chris Backus 6-3, 6-1; and Elijah McKee over Devin Watt 6-2, 6-1. In doubles it was Owen Sheekey and Logan McPherson over Noah Barbaro and Carter Vail 6-0, 6-1; and Dongwook Kim and Dan Balutowski over Jack Smythe and Corey Beitl 6-0, 6-1. Against Onteora, it was Cheruiyot over Caleb McMenemy 6-4, 6-4; and McKee over Lucas Dodd 6-1, 6-4; Sheeley and McPherson over Alex Mecci and Colin Nagle 4-6, 7-6, 6-3; and Kim and Balutowski over Lucien McMenemy and Tom Sodak 6-1, 6-1. And against Red Hook, it was Kalus over Ethan Husted 6-1, 6-0; Cheruiyot over Brendan Deckoff 6-2, 6-0; Sheekey and McPherson over Kyle McCloskey and Doug Appenzeller 6-2, 6-1; and Kim and Blautowski over Reid Signet and Galen Willigan 7-5, 6-2.
