S106 fightDiana M. Lattin, 50, of Amy Crt., Kingston, was arrested on Mother’s Day and charged with third-degree attempted assault after fighting with another parent during a girls’ youth softball game.

Saugerties Police responded to a 911 call at 4:47 p.m. Sunday, May 10 reporting a fight in progress between parents at the Cantine Sports Complex. Police determined that one of the parents, Lattin, became out of control during a girls’ youth softball game. Witnesses reported to officers that Lattin began spitting at coaches and started pushing other parents as the altercation ensued. One parent, attempting to restrain Lattin, had wrapped her arms around Lattin, attempting to hold Lattin’s arms at her side. Lattin continued to fight and broke free after biting the parent in the arm. Lattin then pulled a handful of hair from the victim’s head as she continued to fight. Paramedics from DIAZ treated the victim at the scene.

Lattin was arrested and processed at police headquarters on the charge of attempted assault in the third degree and then arraigned in town of Saugerties Court. Lattin was released upon the court issuing a stay away order of protection on behalf of the victim. The police investigation is continuing and additional charges are pending.
