The New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce board of directors has appointed Peter Ingellis as its interim president.
Ingellis replaces Michael Smith, who served as Chamber president for nearly two years, during which time he helped foster strong community relationships.
Ingellis has served as director of membership and development since March of this year and will continue with those responsibilities, in addition to his new executive role, while the board initiates a search for a permanent president. Director of marketing and communications, Helen Gutfreund, will assist Ingellis with his additional duties, specifically as they regard member retention and event committee leadership.
“We wish to thank Michael for all his hard work over the past two years, as he leaves the Chamber better than how he found it,” said board chair Frank Curcio. “He has accomplished so much and we wish him well. We are very fortunate that Peter can step up as interim president. We are confident that under his leadership, the Chamber will continue to move forward and grow stronger for our members.”
