“Akashic Records Revealed” at Woodstock’s Sage Center

A group of approximately 25 people sit on folding chairs in a sunlit yoga studio in Woodstock, softening the seats by sitting on blankets. Each person is there to participate in an interactive workshop called “Akashic Records Revealed” with June Brought, who holds these monthly sessions at the Sage Center for the Healing Arts on the last Sunday of every month. The next workshop takes place on Sunday, September 29 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $20.

The Akashic Records exist in an energy field on another level, Brought explains, one on which we’ve all left an imprint with our past deeds and that holds the potential for our future. “The Akashic Records are a vibrational record of every soul and its journey,” she says. “When we go into that imprint, we receive information, along with the energetic equivalent of that information. And in my experience, that can move us through some pretty profound shifts. The point is to identify and release what is blocking us, to get out of our own way to move into a fuller expression of who we are; to move into joy.”

The workshops can serve as a good way to “get your feet wet” before delving into an individual session, Brought says, although many of those in the room say that they attend the workshops every month.

The process begins with Brought leading the group in reciting the Pathway Prayer, developed by the Center for Akashic Studies. Brought guides the participants into a relaxed state of awareness, she says, then accesses the Records for the group assembled, receiving words or visual images that represent recent and current issues for the participants in the room on that particular afternoon. After the group message has been conveyed, individual participants ask questions, and through Brought, receive input from entities called “Masters” and “Teachers” who maintain the Akashic Records, says Brought.

The loved ones we have known in this lifetime can also come through with information, says Brought, especially in bereavement sessions, although she adds that she doesn’t consider herself a medium. Past lives can come into the picture, too, although only if they’re currently impacting the person, she says. “This is really more about the ‘now,’” says Brought. “If we’re projecting the future or the past, we’re really not available to move into a fuller potential.”

Brought grew up in a military family, living in Ohio for the longest stretch of her childhood. She earned a degree in Food Chemistry and Nutrition, then went on to get a Master’s degree in Microbiology. Brought came to New York to teach at the Culinary Institute of America, setting up its Food Science program, until a chance encounter with an agent on a trip to New York City led to a successful career in modeling.

In her 20s, Brought says, she began having experiences that caused her to look more deeply into what was happening in her life, and after a great deal of reading she began Akashic sessions on her own records, eventually propelling her toward her present work.

Brought received training in Matrix Energetics, something that she describes as “basically a shifting of our energy levels that allows us to access our potential,” and brings that to the process when she works with someone individually. She also teaches classes on how to access one’s own Akashic Records, and speaks to groups about how better to integrate into daily life the recurring truths that come out through Akashic sessions.

“Akashic Records Revealed” workshop with June Brought, Sunday, September 29 (& last Sunday of every month), 2-3:30 p.m., $20, Sage Center for the Healing Arts, 6 Deming Street, Woodstock; (845) 679-5650, www.akashicjune.com.
