Woodstock Nights on Friday, September 13 will find shops and restaurants in the business district staying open until 10 p.m. offering menu specials, sales, discounts and giveaways. Musicians, artists and performers will be out and about along Route 212 (Mill Hill Road) and Tinker Street, as well as on Rock City Road and Tannery Brook Road, entertaining strollers from one end of town to the other. Visitors who stop in all participating shops can enter to win a special prize sponsored by the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce & the Arts.
Happenings will include dancer/choreographer Clyde Forth performing a scaled-down version of Codex, with song, poetry and monologue, in the bay window of the Golden Notebook. Artist and activist Norm Magnusson will create a five-hole Frisbee Golf Course on the lawn of the Woodstock Library, with artist-designed holes. The Energy Dance Troupe and Percussion Orchestra of Kingston (POOK) will perform on the Village Green, where the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary will offer free samples of cashew-based ice cream and animal-themed face-painting.
Ratboy, Jr. will perform an acoustic set in front of the Illuminated Baby from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. WDST Radio Woodstock 100.1 will provide music and giveaways, and caricaturist Eric Lee will create cartoon versions of his subjects. Joshua’s will offer half-price drinks and music upstairs, and pianist Peter Cody will be at the Kleinert/James Center. The Woodstock Music Shop is offering a free gift with a $20-or-more purchase, and Woodstock Cupcakes will have free frosting shots and five-minute massages.
