“Jelly & George” and “Live At The Orpheum” are two nights of Jazz in Tannersville, in Greene County, at the Orpheum Performing Arts Center, featuring Catskill Jazz Factory’s Artists in Residence.
At 7:30 p.m. Friday, August 9, it’s Jelly & George, a tribute to Jelly Roll Morton and George Gershwin featuring Marcus Roberts, previous winner of the Thelonious Monk international jazz competition on piano, and pianist Aaron Diehl, with Cecile Mclorin Salvant (voice), Rodney Jordan on bass and Jason Marsalis on drums. Advanced purchase price is $25 general admission, $20 seniors, $7 students; at the door its $28 general admission, $23 seniors, $7 students. Tickets also available at www.catskilljazzfactory.org.
At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, August 10 it’s the Second Annual “Live at the Orpheum with all the participants of the Catskill Jazz Factory’s Artists In Residence, including Marcus Roberts Trio, Cécile Mclorin Salvant Quartet, Benny Benack III Quintet, Antonia Madruga Trio and special guests. Tickets for Saturday night are only $10, and are available at www.catskilljazzfactory.org. They’ll also available at the door, but reservations are recommended
