Teens host Woodstock gala to benefit Laotian orphanage.

Local musical favorites will be teaming up for a Cabaret Gala at Photosensualis in Woodstock to benefit the 600 children of the Deak Kum Pa Orphanage in Luang Prabang, Laos on Saturday, January 19. Dance and music acts will include Uncle Rock, the Onteora Jazz Band, Lucia & Sequoia, the Shandettes, the Vanaver Caravan, Harvey Citron, Marc Black, the Rhinebeck Dance Center and more. Local businesses will be donating food and beverages.

The One Voice for Laos/Teens for Change project started in 2011 and has included many fundraising events, mostly led by local teenagers under the guidance of Evelyne Pouget, a Woodstock artist and activist. Tickets, priced at $15 for adults and $10 for students, can be purchased at the door beginning at 7 p.m.
