Food pantry gets some much needed help

The Saugerties Food Pantry recently received some much needed help in the form of two large donations.

The Saugerties Lions Club recently donated $3,500 to the Food Pantry with funds raised at the Nov. 16 Lions Club Holiday Auction. The Lions wish to thank all of the individuals and businesses who contributed to the auction and all of the attendees for allowing the Lions to continue to serve the Saugerties community.

Lions Club chairman Joe Mueller is shown in the top image (above) delivering the check to food pantry director Marilyn Richardson.

The other donation, for $300, came from the Saugerties Educational Support Association. Funds were raised by selling 50/50 tickets at a holiday party last December and at a retirement banquet in May. The bottom image shows Lisa McCormack, vice president of the Saugerties Educational Support Association, delivering the check to Richardson.
