Family of New Paltz’s ninth annual Turkey Trot will take place on Thursday, Nov. 22 at 9 a.m. Registration begins at 7 a.m. Last year’s event attracted more than 2,000 people. The course is approximately 3.1 miles long. It starts at Water Street Market in New Paltz. Runners and walkers will head south on Water Street, bear right onto Plains Road and follow it until it ends; then make a sharp left onto the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail and head back to the Water Street Market, crossing Plains Road.

The Mashed Potato Fun Run is approximately one-half mile. It starts at the Turkey Trot finish line on the rail trail across the street from the Water Street Market. Kids will run on the rail trail about one-quarter mile and turn around just before Plains Road and run back.

Registration is available at https://newpaltzturkeytrot.com/webregistration.pdf. Participants can avoid long lines on race day by registering and/or picking up a race packet a day early on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at the Jewish Community Center in New Paltz from noon to 5 p.m.

For additional information, call 255-7957.
