Candidate forum

The League of Women Voters is inviting the community to attend a candidate forum. Here’s what the league said: “This is an important election year for all of us. New legislative districts have been drawn and accepted by the State Legislature, assigning us new district numbers and candidate with whom we may not be familiar. Take the time to familiarize yourself with your newest potential representatives, their ideas and their responsiveness to your ideas by attending the League of Women Voters Candidate evenings.

Informed participation is your right and your road to the change you desire in local, state and national elections. Our meetings are local, accessible, and always invite the attendees to express their concerns. Join us on Monday, Oct. 15 at the Frank D. Greco Senior Center, Market St. Saugerties to meet the candidates.”

Here’s the schedule:
Town Justice (7-7:30 p.m.): Claudia Andressen and Kenneth Gilligan
7- 8:05 p.m. Receiver of Taxes, Cheryl DeForest and Suzi Filak
8:15 p.m.-9:30 p.m. NY Assembly District 102. Peter Lopez and James Miller.
8:15 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. NY Senate District 46. Candidates George Amadore and Cecilia Tkaczyk.
