Dark Energy
I don’t like the connotation of the word “dark.” The controversy over the existence Dark Matter or Dark Energy intrigues me. While the words energy and matter are OK, perhaps a term like Sparkly Jelly would better serve to describe the 94 percent of the multi/universe that scientists believe is totally unknown… Oh well. Another cosmic mystery. This enigma now leads these scientists to state: Anything may be possible. Hold on to your hats! The line between physics and metaphysics may blur, magical things would happen. So always remember: think good thoughts!
Now that anything may be possible, the Paradigm Party is considering mounting a write in campaign for a seat on the Woodstock Town Board.
Our wonderful little town, who’s name is forever attached to utopian ideals, will need much support, help and good wishes, to live up to the potential that is Woodstock.
If you believe in youth employment, lower taxes, and lowering our carbon footprint, please support the Paradigm Party. Comments welcomed at 845-679-2726.

Food Pantry Is Open
We would like first of all to thank you for all the help you have given to the Good Neighbor Food Pantry. We have encountered people who, because of recent circumstances, have found themselves without work for periods of time.
We find that there is a greater need for dignity items. These items include, but are not limited to, soap, shampoo, deodorant, personal supplies, band aids and disposable razors.
Woodstock’s Good Neighbor Food Pantry is located on the first floor of the church (enter through the door by the Tannery Brook). Hours on Wednesdays have been extended to open earlier at noon and run to 7 p.m. Thursdays its 9 a.m.-noon. Donations can be dropped off any time at 31 Tannery Brook in Woodstock, and on Thursday mornings at the Woodstock Reformed Church. Cash donations are always welcome.
Again, we, your neighbors, wish to thank you!
Peace and food for all.

Get Your Costume Ready
There is something to be learned from every catastrophe. We were hit badly in our little corner of the world by Hurricane Irene and subsequent floodings. We learned that we are a community — neighbor helps neighbor. Even people in neighboring communities drop their woes to help others.
What a joy to see the trucks from Kansas and the Finger Lakes helping to restore electricity and pump us out. Let us keep this feeling of good will to steer us through good times and bad.
Now, on to really important matters. Air is turning a little chilly, although I am sure we will have one more hot spell coming. Get those imaginations going. Hand made Halloween costumes. We are seeing fewer and fewer store-boughts. Some people have been telling me already what they are creating. Sounds terrific. Thank you. Circle Monday, October 31, 4:30 p.m. on your calendars. The Woodstock Chamber of Commerce and Arts sponsors Halloween on the Village Green.
See you then.
