A. William “Bill” Heckeroth, 86, of Woodstock, died Friday, August 25, 2023 at his home. Born in Woodstock, he was the son of Edith and Adolf Heckeroth. Adolf had a Plumbing, Heating and Electric business where Bill joined his father and ran the business until his retirement. He graduated from Kingston High School and attended the University of Alabama. Bill enjoyed living in his hometown of Woodstock. He was involved in many community projects, especially
planning the arrival of Santa on the Village Green for many years.
Survivors include his wife the former Linda Shay; children, Edan (Jeffry) Holmes of Walden and Charlene (Robert) Flood of Montgomery; grandchildren, Lauren, William, Annie, Michael, Brianna and Robert; great grandchildren, Hunter, Parker and Gavin; sister in law, Melanie Shay Oehmcke,brother-in-law John A. Miller and his niece Katherine Klem (Lance) and nephew John Miller of California. He also leaves behind many life- long friends including his dear friends Rolf and Mary. He was predeceased by his sister, Edie Heckeroth Miller.
His Funeral Service was held Monday 12 noon at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., Saugerties. Burial followed in the Woodstock Artist Cemetery.Memorial contributions can be sent to the Woodstock Christmas Eve Committee.
