Comic book artist and creator Thor Rodriguez-Badendyck died just before daybreak on Sunday, October 20th, with his family, close friends, and trusted staff around him. He was fifty-one. Paralyzed from the armpits down after a motor vehicle injury in 2000, he retrained himself to produce professional-level work without the use of his hands. A memorial will be held in the late spring, and an online gallery of his work is planned.
He is survived by his parents, Cynthia Rodriguez-Badendyck and Lawrence Badendyck, his loved long-term friends Jennifer Gentile and Reis Moore, and aunt and cousin, Susan Stern Rodrigues and Nora Rodriguez Frankl. His second cousin, Bo Rodriguez Frankl was born three weeks before Thor’s death.
