In his early years, Randy excelled as the captain of the New Paltz football team before making the difficult decision to leave high school prematurely. While not the oldest, duty called when his father fell ill, and Randy stepped up without hesitation, taking on the responsibility of providing for his parents and siblings while running the family farm. His commitment to family became a defining trait, showcasing his love and dedication.

Farming ran deep in Randy’s veins, and he continued this passion into adulthood, establishing his own dairy farm. His connection with horses and cattle was a lifelong passion, and he was the leading trainer at the Monticello Racetrack for many years.

Later in life, Randy and his beloved wife, Ila Mae, embarked on a new chapter, “retiring” to Montana. There, they found solace and joy on a ranch with over 300 head of cattle. Surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of Montana, they created countless memories with family and friends, sharing their love for the mountains, hiking to lakes, and fishing with their children and grandchildren.

A private memorial service was held to celebrate Randy’s life and the indelible mark he left on those who were fortunate enough to know him. In the stories of his strength, love and adventures with his family, Randy’s legacy lives on.
