Paula Edwards, 92, of New Paltz, New York passed away peacefully on Monday March 13, 2023,at her home with her devoted daughter, Roxanne by her side.
Born April 20, 1930, in New York she was the child of the late Herman and Elsie (Kavinsky) Greger.
On February 12, 1949, inNew York Paula married the love of her life,Edward “Rocky” Edwards. They had nearly 65 happy years together before his death in 2014.
She worked as a Practical Care Aide Level 2 and was employed by Bermac Home Aides in Kingston.
Paula loved going to yard sales and flea markets. She had a large collection of dolls and teddy bears and she would spend hours brushing the doll’s hair and wigs, hand washing their outfits and dressing them anew. She was adept at creating a beautiful yard with flowers, pinwheels, and garden animal statues. Paula would spend hours sitting outside admiring her handiwork and feeding the chipmunks.
Paula and “Rocky” would practice fencing together in their backyard and always sat down to dinner at the supper table even after the kids were married and had moved out. She had a 1969 Pontiac that she named “The Bluebird” and she loved to speed- reaching a velocity of 110-115 miles an hour on N. Putt Corners Road and a solid 90 miles an hour passing people on State Route 32.
Paula is survived by her daughters, Roxanne M. Edwards of New Paltz, NY and Dolores Way and her husband, Dan of PA; her grandchildren, Michael Tasker and his wife, Alicia of CA, Angela, Thomas and Victoria Way of PA; two great grandchildren; her beloved canine companion, Puppy Dog Lincoln Angel; a beloved dog, Boo Boo; and a beloved macaw, Tumac.
