Michael J. Chance

Michael J. Chance, 75, of Saugerties, NY died Friday, January 14th, 2022 at Kingston Hospital. He was born April 3, 1946 in East St. Louis, IL to the late Rolf and Velma Bradshaw Chance. With a master’s degree in English Lit from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he was an editor/writer for radical alternative publications Takeover, Overthrow, The Yipster Times, National Weed and High Times Magazine.

Survivors include his wife Nancy Borman; sons, Brian of San Diego, CA and Brandon of Eauclaire, WI; daughter, Rebecca of New York City, and many siblings, nieces, nephews, and two grandchildren. He will be remembered by many friends and former colleagues as a witty lover of cats who always kept the door to his home open for anyone who needed a place to stay, or to sit and chat.

A private celebration of life for friends and family is planned for the spring.
