Janet Coraza, 90, of West Hurley passed away Wednesday March 13, 2024 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was born November 29, 1933, the daughter of the late William and Dorothy Hubbard.
Jan attended college at Potsdam University as a music major. She loved all genres of music and would often be found singing to “ the oldies”. In her younger years Janet worked as a secretary at an advertising agency in Rochester. She was the Secretary of Admissions for Bard College for many years until her retirement. In addition to her career at Bard, she loved her second job as the hostess for Skytop Restaurant. She loved to greet the patrons and chat with them as she seated them for their meals. Jan enjoyed playing piano, knitting and reading. She always enjoyed a good walk, and of course, her yearly vacation to Long Beach Island with the entire family and sometimes a few extras. She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren whom she loved unconditionally. Jan always had a smile and warm welcome to anyone she met. She will be greatly missed by so many.
Surviving are her three daughters Lynn Coraza of Woodstock, Patti Coraza of West Hurley, and Susan DeCicco of Port Ewen. Grandchildren, Andrew Williams (Tyra), Kylla Delisio, Zachary Zahorsky (Kim), Nicholas Zahorsky. Great grandchildren, Andrew Williams, Jr., Kai Williams, Kiarra Edwards, Natalie Zahorsky. Nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, Janet was predeceased by her siblings Marion, Ken and Billy.
A gathering to celebrate Jan’s life will be organized in the coming weeks for friends and family to honor her and share memories of her.
