Dianne Devine, loving wife and mother passed peacefully into eternity, surrounded by family, and showered with love on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024.
Dianne was born in Manhattan and moved to Kingston, NY in the early 1950s.
She was a graduate of St. Joseph School and St. Ursula Academy in Kingston, where she met many lifelong friends. Dianne went on to get her bachelor’s degree from the college of her dreams, Marymount College, Tarrytown (now Fordham University Marymount) graduating Summa Cum Laude, an academic distinction in which she took tremendous pride. She also obtained a master’s degree in human resource management at Mercy University in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Dianne achieved both degrees while managing a full-time job and raising a growing family.
Her working career and volunteer efforts spanned several decades. During her career she worked at the Grand Union in the Manager and District Manager’s Office, the ARC in Kingston as assistant to the Personnel Manager, Ulster Community College as coordinator in their Continuing Education Program and at Benedictine Hospital as co-coordinator of the Gift Shop. Dianne was associated with Benedictine Hospital starting as a Candy Striper in high school to her position of President of the Hospital Auxiliary. At the time of her passing, Dianne was still involved with local hospital efforts.
Throughout her life and especially in retirement, Dianne found great joy and pride in knitting. She was a volunteer at heart, loved giving and received a tremendous sense of fulfillment creating, crafting, and donating countless sweaters and hats for newborn babies and their mothers to Benedictine Hospital.
She loved cooking, trying new recipes, going to new restaurants, pizza nights with her family, salmon sashimi, blue skies, fresh flowers, the ocean in Florida, & Kenny G. She cherished spending time with her lifelong friends, her family, & children.
Dianne is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Vivian Legac. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Daniel J Devine, her daughter Danielle and son Drew. All were present at her side during her very peaceful passing.
A memorial for Dianne will be private. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution in memory of Dianne may be made to:  Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Office of Development at POB 27106, New York, NY 10087 or the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, 75 Route 340, Sparkill, NY 12976.
