Arnold W. Terpening, 81, of New Paltz, died Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Vassar Medical Center.
Born in Poughkeepsie, he was a son of the late Arnold & Marie Tompkins Terpening.
Arnold is survived by his wife Barbara Terpening of New Paltz, two daughters, Christina Schuler and her husband Thomas of Boynton, VA, Kelli Terpening of Marlboro, a sister, Barbara A. Terpening of Highland, three grandchildren, Richard, Amy and Eva. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Arnold worked as an Engineering Technician at IBM for 43 years. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, woodworking, fixing small engines, NASCAR and the NY Yankees.
Arnold was happy spending time with family and could always be counted on to help friends and neighbors.
Funeral Service and Interment will be privately held.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Andrew’s Church, 163 Main St. New Paltz, NY 12561 would be gratefully appreciated.
