Anne Carr Finn

Anne Carr Finn, of New Paltz New York, died peacefully at the age of 93 on June 24, 2025. A beloved member of the New Paltz community since 1977, Anne prized her many friendships developed through decades of participation in local book groups, a daily meditation group, Phillies Bridge Farm, Mohonk Consultations and the Life Long Learning Institute of SUNY New Paltz. She was also an early supporter of school integration programs and, in the mid-1960s, participated in the development of one such successful program in New Bedford, Massachusetts.

Daughter of Richard Bruce Car and Catherine Ward Carr, Anne was in born in 1932 in Pasadena, California. She is pre-deceased by her sisters, Catherine Grinnell and Hilary Jones, and is survived by her brothers, Michael and Stephen Carr, and 27 nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her four children: Hilary Finn, Paula Finn, Johanna Longbottham, and Joshua Finn, and their spouses: Kenneth Simmons, Nathalis Wamba, James Longbotham, and Louisa Finn, as well as eight grandchildren: Sam, Quincy, Liam, August, Abe, Ezra, Mace, and Kieran. A celebration of her life will be held on August 3, 2025, 11 AM at Phillies Bridge Farm in Gardiner, New York.
