The Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge was the site of a suicide jump on Monday, August 18 at approximately 3:22am, when an unidentified woman leapt from the bridge to her death. After Ulster police responded to a 911 call reporting the jump, authorities subsequently found her body close to the shore of Charles River Park.
Since 2007, the New York State Bridge Authority reports approximately 103 completed suicides and 43 attempts across its five bridges, including Kingston‑Rhinecliff.
