A Woodstock woman is in jail after allegedly committing two crimes in the same day.
Police said that shortly after midnight on Monday, June 23, Saundra Willis Stewart, 55, was charged with misdemeanor criminal contempt for allegedly violating an order of protection on Wurts Street in Kingston. She was arrested in the vicinity of the residence which she was barred from approaching.
After being released on her own recognizance, she was arrested later that same day around 3:30pm on charges of felony assault. Police said Stewart tried to hit another person with her vehicle.
Stewart — who has dual residency in Woodstock and Hamilton, OH — was sent to jail upon her second arrest and held there in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The investigation is ongoing and police said additional charges may be filed.
