Responding to a 911 call about a disoriented bear cub wandering Samsonville Road in the Town of Rochester, Ulster County Sheriff’s Deputy Dave Stoutenburgh took matters into his own hands — literally.
At approximately 10:30, Stoutenburgh arrived on scene and promptly scooped up the young mammal, preventing any further injury.
Since the mother bear was nowhere to be found, Catskill Mountain Wildlife Rehabilitation is handling medical care and rehabilitation for the little one.
