The Dallas Hot Wieners building in Saugerties was struck by a Hyundai Elantra today, causing significant damage to the exterior and interior of the building, according to a Facebook post made Thursday evening by Dallas Hot Wieners co-owner Freddy Tampasis.
After noting that the Saugerties location would be closed until further notice, he wrote, “Thank God no customers or employees were hurt… We will be back soon!”
Pictures posted of the accident on Facebook show police responding after the incident, and the subsequent marking off of the damaged area with police tape. In the photos, windows were shattered, tables askew, wall fixtures lie on the floor and wall paneling is knocked loose.
“They can’t wait to get those dogs,” commented Facebook user Mike McCloskey.
