Stephen Kohn 79, of New Paltz, New York passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 23, 2022, at Woodland Pond in New Paltz.
Born September 7, 1942, in Bronx, New York he was the son of the late Alfred and the Paula (Kamnitzer) Kohn. Upon completion of his master’s degree, he was employed by the New York City School System, as a teacher until his retirement in 2001. He was active in the community at Woodland Pond, and a long-time member of the George Tomov Folk Dance Ensemble.
Survivors include his devoted son, Bradley Eng-Kohn and his wife, Carla of Poughkeepsie, NY; his grandchildren, Mia Eng-Kohn of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Daniel Eng-Kohn of Poughkeepsie, NY; his longtime companion, Halema Hassan of New Paltz, NY; and his sister, Dorris Kirschbaum of Greenbelt, MD
