New Paltz Village Board meetings will be held remotely for the foreseeable future, it was decided at the September 8 meeting. With only 55% of eligible New Paltz residents vaccinated and coronavirus cases on the rise, trustees believe this is a necessary step.
Planning Board members appear ready to meet remotely again, as well. They discussed the possibility after their meeting on September 7, with board chair John Litton observing that viewers have difficulty hearing what masked individuals are saying via the Village system, which uses a laptop web camera to broadcast the way most individuals do from home. Litton believes that remote meetings would improve accessibility in that manner.
