There may be some events at Winston Farm this year, but another big electronic music festival won’t be one of them.
“The Hudson Project is on hold for the moment,” said Michael Lang, who represents the property owners. “It’s not coming back this year.”
Last year’s event was held July 11-13 at the former site of Woodstock ’94. Attendance wasn’t announced but it appeared to be several thousand short of the 20,000 to 25,000 expected. The third night was canceled following a lightning storm which left around 1,000 cars stuck in the mud overnight. Festival organizer MCP Presents later issued partial refunds.
MCP Presents did not respond to questions submitted Monday, Feb. 23 seeking an update on the status of the concert. The Hudson Project website doesn’t say anything about future plans.
This does not mean Winston Farm will return to pastoral silence.
“We’re talking to some other entities about this summer and should have something definitive in a couple of weeks,” said Lang.
Town Supervisor Greg Helsmoortel had this to say: “As of right now there is not a concert planned, not saying there will not be.”
