Two Boots in Red Hook to host Alexander Turnquist & Avondale Airforce

When unconventional guitar-slingers Alexander Turnquist and Avondale Airforce seize control of Two Boots in Red Hook on Friday, February 22, expect sheets and squalls of sound that you don’t ordinarily associate with the guitar. Turnquist conjures Steve Reichian studies in drift on a 12-string acoustic that more often sounds like a murder of hammered dulcimers. Avondale Airforce, the effect-addled electric duo of Peter Aaron (Chrome Cranks) and Stanton Warren (Venture Lift), lives and prospers in that precarious space between ambient and noise. Admission costs $5 and the show begins at 8 p.m.

On Saturday, February 23, Two Boots welcomes New Paltz’s Sweet Clementines and Brooklyn’s the Argentine. Two Boots is located at 4604 Route 9G in Red Hook, directly across from the main entrance to Bard College.
