Alfred Santschi, age 89, passed away at his home in Modena, NY, surrounded by his family on Monday, December 31, 2018. He was born on April 28, 1929 in Steffisburg, Switzerland to Rudolf and Susanna (Zeller) Santschi.
Alfred emigrated to Canada and subsequently to the United States in 1953. On retirement, he moved to Modena, where he lived and enjoyed the natural surroundings for the past 21 years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Helen Lehmann Santschi; daughters, Cornelia Santschi, Andrea Iorizzo and Linda Santschi and grandchildren, Christopher Iorizzo and Ava Iorizzo; sisters, Marie Schwander and Rosa V. Niederhausern.
The family will hold a private celebration of his life on his birthday in April, 2019.
