Dorothy passed away at her apartment on October 26th. She was preceded in death by husbands Henry Greenberg and Maison Clarke. She is survived by daughters Elly Wininger and Judith Greenberg, son Robert Greenberg (Trish Hawkins), grandchildren Jessica (Greenberg) Cowan, Thomas, Lionel and Daniel Wininger, Jacob and Emma Bradford, great grandchildren Annabel and August Cowan.
She attended Walden and claimed they didn’t teach her anything. Dorothy was a world traveler, read widely and loved poetry, opera and horror movies. She was immersed in the cultural life of NYC and Woodstock, where she spent summers in her parents’ (Louis and Stella Segal) home and subsequently in her own. Dorothy worked in advertising at MBA Music and then Grey Advertising where she was a role model for women in business. She was an early bicycle commuter and was involved in the 75th St. Block Association. She tutored immigrants in ESL and loved the Woodstock Library where she volunteered. Her sharp wit never left her. She was a regular on Catskill Cabaradio with “Your Mother Should Know,” dispensing her unique brand of humor and wisdom. The family requests gifts to The ACLU in lieu of flowers.
